Bush Hills is a neighborhood in western Birmingham, Alabama, less than 10 minutes from the heart of the downtown area. This neighborhood is situated on the outskirts of the Birmingham Southern College campus, north of Graymont Avenue and Eighth Avenue West and south of Interstates 20 and 59. Highways 4, 5, and 78 run past the neighborhood to the east, along the opposite side of the campus. Bush Hills is situated in the 35208 zip code area, within Jefferson County.

Birmingham Southern College isn’t the only higher learning institution in the vicinity. The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), one of the most significant public universities in the state, is situated within a few miles to the southeast. McLendon Park, which hosts Legion Field Stadium, is also just a short drive from Bush Hills. This stadium is the home of the UAB football team and seats more than 71,000 fans. On occasion, it hosts other large outdoor events as well.

For quality medical care close to home, Bush Hills area residents head south to the Baptist Medical Center – Princeton, situated along Lomb Avenue Southwest. The nearby interstates host their share of commercial offerings, but Bush Hills residents are also within 10 miles of Red Mountain Plaza Shopping Center and Gilcrest Shopping Center, both situated along I-65 to the southeast.

Downtown Birmingham is just over six miles to the east, conveniently accessible via the nearby interstate. Here, there are a variety of cultural attractions and entertainment options, including the Birmingham Museum of Art, Alabama Theater, Mc Wane Science Center, and Birmingham City Hall.
