This Virginia neighborhood borders Mt. Tabor Road and McEver Road on the north and Patrick Henry Drive and Main Street on the south. It also borders Red Maple Drive, Neil Street, and Giles Road on the east and Whipple Drive and Givens Lane on the west. It has easy access to many commercial establishments starting at less than a mile away from its center.
Residents of the neighborhood benefit from the area’s major shopping center, the Patrick Henry Shopping Center, which is located on North Main Street’s southwestern border.
The city of Blacksburg is acknowledged as one of the Top 100 cities with highest percentage of college students. This is mainly because of the presence of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, more popularly known as Virginia Tech. Aside from catering to the higher-education needs of locals and providing job opportunities to many residents, this Virginia land-grant university also contributes much to the thriving economic landscape of the area.
Main–Patrick Henry provides younger students with a number of school options as well. The Bright Beginnings Daycare and Preschool is situated close to the neighborhood. There are also dozens of nearby public and private schools for elementary, middle, and high school students in the vicinity.
Most commercial establishments within the community are in the southwestern portion of the neighborhood, along North Main Street. Residents can also take advantage of the nearby Blacksburg Community Center and Blacksburg Aquatics Center, located a few blocks from North Main Street and just outside the Main-Patrick Henry border.
