The small Downtown neighborhood of Blacksburg, Virginia is rich in history. Situated next door to Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in the 24060 ZIP code area, Downtown offers many options for things to do, including a number of annual events. Many of the buildings in this part of the neighborhood date back over one hundred years, and some are as old as 200 years.
Aside from the sixteen squares, points of interest in the Downtown neighborhood include several art galleries, museums and historic churches, including the 150 year-old Christ Episcopal Church. Downtown is close to a number of attractions and recreation options including a skate park, Blacksburg Community Center, Blacksburg Aquatics Center and Blacksburg Municipal Park. A number of state parks are a short drive away as well.
