Bellmont Hillsboro Neighborhood

The Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood is centrally located south of downtown Nashville between Interstate-65 and the Interstate-440 beltway. The Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood of Nashville is one of the most walkable areas of the city. This neighborhood helped place Nashville on a list of the top 40 most walkable cities in America.

In 1980, the Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood was added to the National Registry of Historic Places due to the large number of historic homes in the area. Visitors to the Belmont-Hillsboro area can enjoy a stroll down one of the beautiful side-walked streets of the neighborhood and see a variety of examples of early 20th Century architecture including American four squares, Tudors, and bungalow-style homes.

Residents of the Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood enjoy its close proximity to Belmont University, Vanderbilt University and Lipscomb University as well as the many restaurants and shops which support the urban, college-town atmosphere of this side of Nashville. One of the most popular shopping and dining areas near the Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood is the nearby Hillsboro Village, a collection of local merchants and dining options. The extremely popular Bookman/Bookwoman Used Book store is located in Hillsboro Village, as well as the Pancake Pantry, the only pancake house in town with a reputation as a favorite among Nashville celebrities.

The Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood also provides residents with easy access to a variety of churches of differing denominations within a short driving distance. Churches near the Belmont-Hillsboro neighborhood include Belmont Heights Baptist Church, Belmont United Methodist Church, Cane Memorial Church of God in Christ, and the Hope Center.

For entertainment, residents of this Nashville neighborhood can enjoy a performance at the nearby Belcourt Theatre.
