Downtown Neighborhood

Downtown Portland is one of the most popular neighborhoods in the city. It is located in the 97201 ZIP code and bounded to the north by North Burnside Street, to the south by Highway 10, to the east by Highway 5, and to the west by the Goose Hollow neighborhood.

The neighborhood of houses, town homes, condominiums, and apartments covers 1.335 square miles. Portland was incorporated in 1851, and 34 percent of its houses were built in 1939 or earlier. The average listing price of a house is $424,449, and the average sales price is $339,245.

Portland is one of the most-admired cities in the United States. It has been rated as the Greenest City in America, Platinum-Level Bicycle Friendly Community, and one of America’s Cleanest Cities by major U.S. magazines.

The Northwest Film Center has classes, screenings, and lectures. It is the home of the Portland International Film Festival.
