The busiest county in the state of Oklahoma is Tulsa County. Its county seat, Tulsa, is the second-largest city in the state. The county is located along the Arkansas River and the Tulsa Port of Catoosa is the largest port in Oklahoma. Tulsa County was founded in 1850.
The city of Tulsa is architecturally stunning with its large collection of art deco buildings. Downtown Tulsa contains several unique districts including the Greenwood Historical District. Downtown is also home to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, the BOK Center, The Tulsa Convention Center, Philbrook Museum, and ONEOK Field. Tulsa is home to the University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University.
Tulsa County contains several other communities, such as Glenpool, Mannford, Lotsee, Sperry, and Collinsville. Attractions in the county include Big Splash Water Park, Gilcrease Museum, the Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum, and the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium. Utica Square is a popular destination for shopping and dining. River parks offer areas to picnic, and a trail for walking and biking extends for 10 miles along the river.
