Indianola Terrace is a neighborhood in Columbus. It is an older neighborhood with many homes from the first two decades of the 20th century. The community is located near the University District and The Ohio State University.
The boundaries of the neighborhood are Summit Street to the west, railroad tracks to the east, East 11th Avenue to the south, and East Norwich Avenue to the north. The ZIP code for Indianola Terrace is 43201.
Apartments make up an important segment of the housing in this neighborhood. Many of them are in attractive older brick buildings, and most of the housing in this neighborhood is multi-family. The community is close enough to the university to be a good choice for off-campus housing.
The yards are small, and while there the neighborhood has trees, it isn’t a forested area. Luka Avenue is the exception, however. It has a wooded park in the middle of a woodsy street. While Indianola Terrace is a residential neighborhood with a historic appearance, it offers urban-style living. There is public bus transportation on the larger streets.
Although Indianola Park is just off the borders of the neighborhood, this little park is a great place to take the kids for a walk to use the playground equipment or to have a picnic. It is only two acres in size but is a welcome respite in this urban area.
When it comes to grocery shopping, a short drive south of the neighborhood, on North High Street, is a Kroger grocery. There are not many restaurants in Indianola Terrace, but residents find a Subway and a Ruby Tuesdays convenient.
The Wexner Center for the Arts is just a few blocks west of this neighborhood and offers a wide variety of art, music, theater, and film productions.
