Sharon Woods Neighborhood

A suburb in what some call “Charlotte’s second uptown,” Sharon Woods is a peaceful enclave in SouthPark, a growing area known for its premier shopping and corporate life. For residents looking for sizable lots, large houses, and a reasonable commute, Sharon Woods offers a great location and enviable homes.

Most of the homes in Sharon Woods were built in the 1970s, and most lot sizes are around half an acre. The houses are primarily two story and ranch style, and many have been renovated. The neighborhood is filled with towering trees, providing a nice contrast to bustling SouthPark, which is just minutes away. Sharon Woods is bordered by Sharon View Road and Quail Hollow Road, and it encompasses zip code 28210.

Sharon Woods’ location is appealing to many residents, as it is within walking distance of Southpark Mall, Charlotte’s best-known shopping destination. Filled with luxury stores and trendy chain restaurants, the mall offers high-end items that can’t be found anywhere else in town. The mall is surrounded by office buildings, smaller shopping centers, and excellent restaurants. In the summertime, the Charlotte Symphony plays its hugely successful Pops in Park free concert series that packs the lawn behind Southpark Mall.

Many Sharon Woods residents belong to the nearby Mountainbrook Swim and Racquet Club or the Harris YMCA, one of the largest YMCAs in the nation, which is within walking distance of the neighborhood. Nearby Carmel Road Neighborhood Park has a large playground, soccer fields and a basketball court. William R. Davie Park is a popular place for a pick-up soccer game, and it has a large fenced-in playground.
