East Forest, in Charlotte North Carolina, is bounded by East Independence Boulevard to the east, Matthews Township Parkway to the south, North Sharon Amity Road to the north and Charlotte’s railway line on the west.
East Forest is located southeast of downtown Charlotte. This area offers a little bit of everything. It is commercial but also very residential. There are major parks and major roads. Great shopping is easily available as is access to downtown.
East Mecklenburg High School and Evelyn Mack Academy are located within the East Forest Neighborhood. Despite the neighborhood’s central location, it projects a rural feeling through its many tall old trees and splendid greenery.
McAlpine Creek Park is a large park in the neighborhood. It is over 400 acres and offers the best of the outdoors for just about everyone in Charlotte. There are 2 miles of biking trails, 1.5 miles of nature trails and since it connects to the James Boyce Park, runners can complete a full 5k. Dogs are welcome in McAlpine Creek Park’s off leash field. The park also includes 5 soccer fields and a 3 acre pond where residents can fish.
Mason Wallace Park offers tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields, a playground and hiking trails. The southern portion of this neighborhood features a variety of hotels close to Route 74 including Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn and Renaissance Suites. Triangle Shopping Center and Independence Shopping Center offer the residents a great shopping experience. Vendors include TJ Maxx and BJ’s.
The East Forest neighborhood offers just about every type of accommodation from apartment rentals to condominium complexes and single family homes in a variety of sizes and styles.
