Telegraph Hill Neighborhood

Telegraph Hill is a neighborhood in San Francisco, within the 94133 zip code. Francisco Street to the north, Sansome Street on the east, Stockton Street to the west, and Broadway on the south are the California community’s borders.

The streets of this ideal San Francisco neighborhood are hilly, the homes are colorful, and there are great sidewalks. A couple blocks from the piers, residents find great entertainment and dining on nearly every street. Housing is mix of townhouses, condos, and apartments. Public transportation is available, with a light rail station at Embarcadero and Sansome. The Powell Mason Cable Car line is just a few blocks away.

Pioneer Park dates from the 1870s. The land was purchased by local businessmen and given a name honor early settlers. Coit Tower, built in the 1930s, sits in the four-acre park. It can be climbed for great views of San Francisco Bay and beyond.

Francisco Middle School is a public school located nearby, with classes for grades six through eight. It is within walking distance for most students in the community. John Yahll Hill Elementary School is within the neighborhood, offers classes in kindergarten through fifth grade, and received a distinguished rating from Great Schools.

Tante Marie Cooking School offers residents the opportunity to hone their skills in the kitchen. Classes are offered for every level of cooking from the professional to the weekend chef. Cooking demonstrations and private parties are also offered.

Walking from Telegraph Hill offers the option of going west to the piers, where there are a variety of food and entertainment choices, or heading to the north and into Chinatown. Shopping is available within the neighborhood at various shops.

Telegraph Hill is the perfect neighborhood for anyone who wants to be in the middle of the real San Francisco.
