Seattle at a Glance
Ballard Neighborhood
The Seattle neighborhood of Ballard was settled by fishermen and still retains some of its Scandinavian charm. Located north of downtown Seattle on the edge of Puget Sound, Ballard is an up-and-coming neighborhood, popular with homebuyers and college students alike.
The neighborhood is made up of numerous bungalow homes and a variety of condominiums and apartments. The main street, Market Street, is filled with mom-and-pop stores featuring everything from children’s shoes to ethnic clothing to kitchenwares. Hair salons are scattered between restaurants that feature cuisine from around the world.
The historic “Old Ballard” district also features many shops. At night, the streets of Ballard are filled with customers from the local bars, movie theaters, and nightclubs. Ballard’s farmer’s market is open on Sundays all year long.
Children in Ballard attend Adams, Whittier Elementary, Whitman Middle School, and the newly remodeled Ballard High School. The Ballard Pool sits next to the high school and open to the public. Ballard is a short, 10-minute bus ride to either the University of Washington or Seattle Pacific University.
The Shilshole Marina and Beach, located at the neighborhood’s west end, features a beach with barbeque pits and picnic area at Golden Gardens Park. The marina houses both recreational and fishing boats, as well as other commercial watercraft. The Burke-Gilman bike path links Ballard with other Seattle neighborhoods, extending over 20 miles into the countryside. Ballard residents also enjoy picnicking at the Hiram Chittenden Locks, while watching boats travel from Lake Union to Puget Sound.
Commuters can catch a bus to downtown Seattle or an express bus to the Eastside, where many tech jobs are located.

About Our Deals
Apartment Finder utilizes the industry's largest and most complete database of real-time rents and availabilities to help you find an amazing deal on your next rental.
Price Drop
Apartment communities change their rental rates often - sometimes multiple times a day. We track the changes and keep you up to date when a rental rate decreases.
Best Value
"Best value" units are located in buildings rated three stars or higher. We label apartment rentals that are priced significantly less than similar high-quality units nearby.
Rent Specials
Apartment communities regularly advertise deals for new residents. Whether it's a move-in special or a free tv, we locate the rentals that offer a little something extra when you sign your lease.
Note: Based on community-supplied data and independent market research. Subject to change without notice.
