The Woodstone neighborhood is located in the northeastern corner of San Antonio. It is a community that features mostly single-family homes but has some multi-family residences and condos as well. It is conveniently located two miles northwest of Interstate 35 and also two miles north of the 1604 Charles W. Anderson Loop. It is bordered by neighborhoods of Valley Forge to the south and Greenridge North to the east.
Residents have plenty of green space to enjoy. There are three public parks within a mile of the subdivision, with Comanche Lookout Park to the northeast, Friesenhahn Park to the northwest, and McClain Park to the north. Another three miles away is Lady Bird Johnson Park. A great amusement park, Morgan’s Wonderland, is nearby as well. It features the world’s first park built for use by special-needs children and adults.
Woodstone children attend one of two schools on each academic level. Elementary students attend either Woodstone Elementary or the Stahl Elementary School. Residents going to middle school most likely attend Wood Middle School, though Dr. Bernard Harris Middle School is also nearby. High school students attend either Madison High or the Judson Learning Academy. Post-secondary options include the Community College Alamo and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Woodstone residents have shopping available at the Rolling Oaks Mall, which is home to many big-name retailers. Sports fans enjoy the fact that the neighborhood is only 10 miles from the home of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs. History buffs take advantage of numerous area sites such as the Alamo, which is 12 miles from the neighborhood.
