Thunderbird Hills Neighborhood

The community of Thunderbird Hills is located just east of I-410 in northwest San Antonio, just north of Culebra Road and south of Bandera Road. This well-established, family-friendly community offers numerous types of housing, ranging from Ranch style to Spanish influence. Home prices here are very affordable and the homes are a great value for the money. The community also offers plenty of apartments, with Liberty Ridge Apartments and Hilltop Oaks Apartments nestled in the area.

Numerous top rated schools are located within the community. The International Bible College can be found here, as well as St. Marys University, which lies just to the east.

Thunderbird Hills is very close to the Southwest Texas Medical Center, which lies just north off of I-410. The Christus Santa Rosa Medical Center, Methodist Specialty Transplant Hospital, and San Antonio Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital, and other specialty hospitals are all close by as well. Residents can be assured that no matter what kind of health care they may need, they can find it right in their own backyard.

The medical center area of San Antonio employs thousands and is a great economic cornerstone for the community and the surrounding areas. Another large employer within close vicinity to Thunderbird Hills is Southwest Research, located off of Culebra Road. This research and development organization covers more than 1,200 acres and provides millions of square feet of test facilities, laboratories, and workshops.

Gilbert Garza Park and Garza Community Center are popular places for casual sports, picnics, and swimming. The park and community center also offer ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground, and a pool.
