Hills of Park North Neighborhood

Hills of Park North is a San Antonio neighborhood located in the city’s northeast sector. Thousand Oaks Drive borders Hills of Park North to its east. This street meets Perrin Beitel Road to form the northern boundary, which then veers west and south to meet Wurzbach Parkway, the southern boundary leading back to Thousand Oaks Drive.

Approximately half of this neighborhood is residential, with Schertz Road dividing the area. Driving into the residential areas offers a rural appeal that is woodsy and not overly crowded. The interior of the neighborhood is quiet and suburban, with large trees throughout the community to enhance its rural effect. Many of the homes here are ranch and similar styles. Much of the non-residential half of Hills Park North is open space preserve, which has a natural, sandy terrain and brushy plants.

The boundaries of this neighborhood are popular roadways that are home to a number of businesses. Restaurants offer a variety of choices. Fast food, Italian food, Chinese food, and Mexican food are all nearby. Gas stations and like businesses on these roadways conveniently serve the local community and its neighbors.

The Thousand Oaks Library is also located in the Hills of Park North, on Thousand Oaks Road. A number of creative programs are offered there for local children. These include Toddler Time for the little ones, Story Time for pre-schoolers, and Games for Teens and The Creative Teens’ Club for the 13-and-older group. Chess and game board lovers have the opportunity to gather at the library at scheduled times. Adults searching for work benefit from access to the library‘s scheduled Resume and Job Hunting Help program.
