Northside Village Neighborhood

Situated in the 77009 zip code, Northside Village is a neighborhood located in the northern section of the city of Houston. Northside Village contains a mixture of both single-family and multi-family homes with some condos in the area. The neighborhood’s location is one that would be desirable for the working family. It is less than a mile to each of the main thoroughfares, including Interstate 610, Interstate 45, and Interstate 10.

Plenty of green space dots the area, with parks such as Moody, Woodland, Irvington, and Hogg making Northside Village outdoor friendly. Golfers can play rounds at any of four golf courses around the area, including River Oaks Country Club, Hermann Park, Memorial Park, and Gus Wortham Golf Club. Other outside activities like swimming are available at locations such as Moody Swimming Pool, City Pool, or Tuffly Swimming Pool.

Northside Village public school students have Sherman and Ketelsen elementary schools for early childhood education, while middle school needs are handled by Marshall Middle School. Jefferson Davis High School is the destination for the teenage students in the neighborhood. Carnegie Branch Library is located close by to help residents with books, and post secondary education possible destinations include the University of Houston and Houston Community College.

Dramatic Arts can also be found close to the Northside Village neighborhood. The Theater Lab Houston puts on a wide variety of plays, while the Texas Mime Theatre presents performances by the silent artists. Another great spot is the Hobby Center for Performing Arts, which is only two miles from the neighborhood.

Shopping is plentiful here, with Studewood and Gulfgate Shopping Centers only two miles from Northside Village. Houston Center also provides more shops a couple of miles farther away. St. Joseph’s Medical Center, just three miles from the community, handles medical emergencies for residents.
