Healy Heights – Southwest Hills Neighborhood

Healy Heights – Southwest Hills, on the west side of Marquand Nature Area, is a great place for Portlanders who appreciate the beauty of their native Pacific Northwest. Hiking trails and natural areas make this one of Portland’s finest neighborhoods. Tudor and Colonial style homes sit on breathtaking rises here. The hourses offer views of picturesque skylines and vistas. Lawns and yard are filled with thriving shrubs, grass, and trees.

Healy Heights – Southwest Hills, located in the 97239 zip code, is contained by Marquam Nature Park on the east. SW Fairmount Boulevard encompasses Healy Heights entirely except on the northern border. SW Council Crest Drive has a direct path through the neighborhood.

The Southwest Hills district, of which Healy Heights is a large part, was developed along cable car lines in the early 1900s. From the top of the cable car line, it is said that riders could see the Cascade Mountain Range.

Healy Heights Park sits in the heart of the community. Flanked by trimmed, shaped hedges that form a wall and a lush green carpet of thick grass, this lovely park has a basketball court, a children’s playground, and a soccer field.

The Healy Heights neighborhood has great community spirit. Every second Sunday in September, an annual potluck dinner is held for residents.
