South View Neighborhood

Two miles west of Interstate 95/US Highway 301, the neighborhood of South View is laid out along curving streets and cul-de-sacs. A mix of single-family residences and apartment living, the development is located off Elk Road, a major roadway for Hope Mills. South View High, South View Middle, and Baldwin Elementary, the three public schools that serve the neighborhood, are clustered together on a large tract within walking distance of the subdivision.

Hope Mills Lake is an 88-acre reservoir lake located approximately three miles west of South View. The popular destination offers public fishing, boating, and other water sports. At the northern tip of the lake, Butler Nature Preserve, a 12.5-acre public park, is a favorite spot among nature lovers and those interested in botanical restoration projects.

The community of South View is a good option for those working or stationed at Fort Bragg Army Base. Located 15 miles northeast of the base, the typical commute along US Highway 401, the All American Expressway, is 30 minutes. Pope Air Force Base is a few minutes further north along U.S. Highway 401. Commuter time for those traveling into Fayetteville, 9 miles north, averages 15 to 20 minutes along the Interstate-95 Business/US Highway 301 route.

The main retail and commercial district nearest to the South View subdivision is along Main Street, three miles away. National chain restaurants, Wal-Mart Supercenter, and a selection of banks and other personal services are located in this section of town. The Bordeaux Center, featuring upwards of 50 shops, restaurants, and health care offices, is a 15-minute trip from the development.
