Westside North is a medium-size, moderately populated neighborhood of Kansas City. West 23rd Street is its southern border. With Interstate-670 as its northern border and Interstate-35 is its eastern border, the freeways provide residents with access to all of the major cultural and historical attractions of Kansas City.
Andrew Dripps Park, Jarboe Park, and Observation Park are small recreation spots within the community. Mulkey Square Park is a half-mile to its north, while Washington Square Park is just under a mile to its southeast. Penn Valley Park, a mile to its south, is a 130-acre park that features the Liberty Memorial, a dog park, skateboard park, picnic facilities, tennis courts, baseball field, and open parkland.
Westside North is primarily residential, but several restaurants are in or within walking distance of the community. Blue Bird Bistro, Chez Elle Creperie and Coffee House, The Westside Local, and Fud are within the neighborhood. Sylvia’s Deli is under a quarter-mile to its east, while Manny’s of Kansas City is about a half-mile to its east. La Bodega Restaurant is a quarter-mile to its south, and Los Tules Mexican Restaurant is a quarter-mile to its northeast.
It’s a popular community for college students, due to its proximity to a diverse array of universities. DeVry University is just under a mile to its northeast. The University of Central Missouri is a half-mile to its southeast. Park University is a mile to its northeast, while the Kansas City Design Center is just under a mile to its northeast. The Keller Graduate School of Management, University of Missouri Dental School, and Concorde Career College are within a two-mile radius.
