While the post office address places the base in Norfolk, Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base is actually located closer to Virginia Beach. Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek merged with Fort Story in 2009 and is now named the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. Little Creek is a major operating base for the Navy’s Atlantic Fleet. The base contains operational, support, and training facilities that are used mainly for amphibious operations and is one of the largest bases of its kind.
To find a Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story area apartment, look on the northeast side of Norfolk or in Northwest Virginia Beach. The base is situated just north of Norfolk Botanical Garden near the communities of Camellia Shores, the Gardens, Waters Edge, Saratoga, North Camellia Shores, East Ocean View, and East Beach.
