New Orleans at a Glance
Algiers Neighborhood
The Algiers neighborhood is located in the Orleans Parish of New Orleans, on the West Bank of the Mississippi River. The community is separated from the rest of New Orleans; however, the city can be accessed by ferry or via a connecting bridge. Residents living in this area have easy access to the French Quarter and the city’s central business district, as well as neighboring communities.
If collecting unique knick-knacks is one of your hobbies, you would enjoy a visit to Rosetree Glass Studio and Gallery, where you can watch as skillful artists transform shapeless blobs of molten glass into delicate works of art right before your eyes, in what was once an Art Deco movie theater. To see a greater selection of collectibles, be sure to visit the Arts and Crafts Market, which is held on the first Saturday morning of each month beginning at 10:00, along the intersection of Pelican and Verret streets.
After a busy day of shopping or sightseeing, a good meal in comfortable surroundings is in order. One popular spot located on Pelican Avenue near the Algiers neighborhood is Gulf Pizza, which serves up a variety of gourmet pizzas, along with pasta, salads and other favorites. However, there is no indoor seating available. The restaurant is located inside a former Gulf gas station.
For those who just want to get out and sightsee without any specific destination, perhaps a walking tour of one of Algiers’ neighborhoods might fit the bill. Popular routes include neighborhoods filled with 19th century architecture, including a number of Victorian style homes and businesses that were rebuilt following a massive fire in the late 1800s, or the “jazz trail” where Algerine jazz pioneers such as Red Allen, a trumpeter and vocalist believed to be one of the first to completely incorporate Louis Armstrong’s musical innovations into jazz, lived and played.

About Our Deals
Apartment Finder utilizes the industry's largest and most complete database of real-time rents and availabilities to help you find an amazing deal on your next rental.
Price Drop
Apartment communities change their rental rates often - sometimes multiple times a day. We track the changes and keep you up to date when a rental rate decreases.
Best Value
"Best value" units are located in buildings rated three stars or higher. We label apartment rentals that are priced significantly less than similar high-quality units nearby.
Rent Specials
Apartment communities regularly advertise deals for new residents. Whether it's a move-in special or a free tv, we locate the rentals that offer a little something extra when you sign your lease.
