For this, we call previous landlords to ask about your history as a tenant. We also we do criminal and credit background checks. We charge a $30 non-refundable fee to run the background check (just charging what we pay for these). In general we look for eviction history. We don’t hold long past (more than several years) credit issues against tenants.
