Windward Pointe is a community of town houses on the very northern end of Saint Petersburg. Its one long street, Lincoln Shores, mimics the shoreline of the small bayou fed from the waters of Tampa Bay. Most homes on the north side of Lincoln Shores offer bayou and distant lake views. Several buildings make up the community and are surrounded by manicured lawns, trees, and flowers.
Commuters to Tampa take route 93, and those going to St. Petersburg can get directly into town via Interstate 275 or any number of surface streets. The Saint Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport is nearby. The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority has a stop across from the Lincoln Shores entrance to Windward Pointe.
Public schools are located south of Windward Pointe. A number of specialty schools such as ITT Technical Institute and the Galen College of Nursing are within two miles of the neighborhood. New Destiny Church is a mile west, and all other places of worship are to the south. A number of local eateries are nearby, including the Crab Shack, Derby Lane, and Kahunas. The closest mall is Gateway Shopping Center, which is two miles south. The trails and boardwalks of Weedon Island Nature Preserve are also south of Windward Pointe. The Sawgrass Lake Park and Nature Area is also nearby.
