About the Listing Agent
One of the DC area’s foremost boutique brokers, William Fastow is the founder of the Appleton Properties Group which merged with TTR Sotheby’s International Realty in 2018. William is known for his drive, his passion for real estate and an uncompromising commitment to customer service. He has represented buyers, sellers and developers across some of the East Coast’s hottest real estate markets including Boston Massachusetts and Washington DC since 2001.
William holds an M.A. in Marketing Communications from Emerson College, with specializations in Crisis Communication, Advertising and Integrated Marketing/Business Communications. He has a B.A. from James Madison University in English Literature and studied Architecture through the University College of London. In 2003 William founded the boutique brokerage Appleton Properties which focused on the representation of buyers, sellers and developers interested in the acquisition and sale of architecturally relevant and historic properties in the urban markets of Boston Massachusetts and Washington DC.
A native Washingtonian and current resident of the Spring Valley neighborhood, William’s knowledge of the region stems from his personal as well as his professional experiences. Being from Washington is a special distinction and makes William more than familiar with the history of the different communities and neighborhoods that make up DC and the surrounding metropolitan area. He has worked with buyers, sellers, investors and developers across the city of Washington as well as Montgomery County, Annapolis Maryland and as far as the Eastern Shore. William also maintains contacts and business interests in Boston Massachusetts which makes him an ideal resource for clients relocating in and out of the New England area.
When not representing TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, working with clients, or serving as a consultant for real estate development projects, William can be found sailing aboard his 40 foot Robert Perry designed sloop “Artax” out of Annapolis Maryland. William is an accomplished lifelong competitive sailor and yachtsman who has logged thousands of coastal and ocean miles aboard numerous racing and cruising yachts including multiple entries into the prestigious Annapolis to Bermuda race, New York Yacht Club Race Week and multiple one design national events. Additionally, William stays involved in his community volunteering his time and expertise as a board member and facilities chair for Byte Back, a nonprofit organization that provides free technology training to low-income DC residents, as well as being active with the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington where he co-chairs their interfaith council which is tasked with creating warm and inviting community outreach opportunities for interfaith families in the greater Washington DC area.
