First-floor furnished room for rent in a four-bedroom, 1.5 bath home in Oakland’s Bushrod neighborhood, near the Berkeley and Emeryville borders. The rent is $1,500/month, which includes all utilities and a twice-a-month housecleaner. It has a queen-sized bed, bookshelves, a dresser, nightstand, and a desk. A second, smaller room is available upstairs for $1,100/month. It has a full-sized bed and other simple furnishing (these can be selectively removed if you're bringing your own furniture). For an additional $100/month, you can park in the driveway. I will throw in the parking space for free if you pay at least three months in advance. Home features: extremely large backyard, with two raised beds available for planting; big, beautiful kitchen; very nice dining room, parlor, and living room; washer-dryer; lots of storage space in attic and basement that, yes, you can utilize, within limits; BART within walking distance; driveway with EV charger plus lots of street parking. Honestly, the bedrooms are nothing great—what you’re really paying for is the rest of the house. Downside: We are directly on Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, which means that there is noise from traffic and BART. You will find, however, that you’ll get used to it. Also, sorry—because we already have a cat (who doesn’t much like other cats…or dogs), we can’t have any other pets. The downstairs room will be available again on January 1, 2027. The upstairs room will be available again in early February, 2027. First and last month rent due on acceptance. Short or long term are both OK.
