Meadowbrook/Allendale is a neighborhood of the city of Houston located towards its southeast border. The location of the neighborhood puts it very near the city of Pasadena, its border on the eastern side. This community is a great location for commuters; it is close to both Interstate 610 to the north and Interstate 45 to the west. The South Houston neighborhood is also a border to the south. Meadowbrook/Allendale is comprised mostly of single-family homes.
The neighborhood offers numerous shopping options for residents. To the west is Gulfgate Center and the Broadway Shopping Center. To the east of the area Allendale Shopping Center, Pasadena Town Square, and Pasadena Oaks Shopping Center are within three miles of Meadowbrook/Allendale.
The Meadowbrook/Allendale neighborhood is rich in green space for residents. There are four parks to enjoy, including Oak Meadows, Milby, Community, and Mason. For those that enjoy golf, the Glenbrook Park has a terrific golf course. Glenbrook also features a swimming pool to go to during the hot summer. There are also Gus Wortham Golf Course, and Battleground at Deer Park Golf Course for residents that don’t mind a couple of extra miles to drive.
Rucker, Patterson, and Bonner Elementary schools serve the younger residents of Meadowbrook/Allendale. On the middle school level, students attend either W.I. Stevenson or Queens Intermediate, while high school age youth go to Chavez, C E P Se High School, Raul Yzaguirre School for Success, or Milby Senior. For those desiring post-secondary education, Houston Community College is near to the neighborhood.
Emergency medical assistance is available at Bayshore Medical Center, Texas Specialty Hospital, Surgery Specialty Hospital America, and Kindred Hospital Bay Area. For travelers, William P. Hobby Airport is very convenient at only four miles from the neighborhood.
