Pennington Villas is a neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee, in the 37214 zip code. It is located between Lock 2 Road on the northeast and Pennington Bend Road on the Southwest. It is just one block northeast of Music Valley Drive. This is a stunning residential area with tree-lined streets and huge front lawns. Located northeast of downtown, it is just a short drive to the I-24/I-65.
Lock Two Park is a small metro park that is located right in the bend of the Cumberland River. It is a small park, flat, and with great unobstructed views of the river. It is a passive park with only a river-themed playground for activity and paths for walking with or without a dog. It was once the location of a lock on the Cumberland River so is historically significant. Birds are visible in abundance especially geese. It is located straight north on Pennington Bend Road from Pennington Villas.
Wave Country is located in Two Rivers Park. It is a seasonal wave pool with an abundance of other fun water features. There are three flumes, speed slides, a kiddie pool, and playground. The pool is a wave pool but there are also times when the wave feature is turned off. Admission comes with a float. It is possible to purchase a yearly pass which is a big savings for frequent visitors.
When it is time to go shopping or to get a fast food meal, a short drive to the Gallatin Pike offers a variety of options. For grocery shopping there is a Save-A-Lot. Traveling along the Pike there is a Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell, Dollar General, Checkers Drive-In, and Wendy’s.
