Edge of Lake Neighborhood

Edge of Lake is a neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee. It’s located in Davidson County. The community is very roughly triangular in shape, with Murfreesboro Pike making up the south western border. Bell Road makes up the south eastern border and Ravine Drive makes up a partial northern border. The area incorporates Broadview Drive, Deerpath Drive, Willowbranch Drive, Rural Hill Road and Court and Edge of Lake Drive.

The neighborhood is mostly single family residential homes, but there are some business and commercial properties in the area. These include Advance Auto Parts, Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Polaris Suzuki Yamaha of Nashville and Kmart. There is also a Wendy’s and a Taco Bell in the immediate vicinity.

The neighborhood of Edge of Lake is located just west of the J Percy Priest Lake. The lake itself is 14,200 acres in size and offers 440 miles of shoreline. The lake is home to largemouth and smallmouth bass, Crappue, Bluegill, Whitefish, Catfish, White Bass and Stripers. Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina is located on the lake and opened in 1980. It is home to the Vanderbilt Rowing Club, the Nashville Rowing Club and the Percy Priest Yacht Club.

Smith Springs Public Use Area is a popular place to watch wildlife and picnic. Anderson Road Recreation Area offers a large sandy beach and an expanse of clear water to swim in. There is a roped off area for children, but adults are free to swim beyond the buoys. However, caution is advised, as there is not a lifeguard on duty. There are picnic tables, a large playground and plenty of space to roam. Hamilton Creek Metropolitan Park is a short commute away and features the only mountain biking path within Davidson County. There is the Lakeside Trail and the Pinnacle Trail, each offering a different level of challenge.
