Heron Walk Neighborhood

Madison, Tennessee is a northeastern suburb of Nashville, the state capital and country music capital of the world. Among the many neighborhoods in Madison is Heron Walk, located approximately 11 miles from the heart of the downtown area along the banks of the Cumberland River and not far from Old Hickory Lake. This community is part of Davidson County. Area communities include Ravenwood, Candlewood, Jasperson Drive, and Center Street.

Located north of Neelys Bend Road, Heron Walk is primarily residential, consisting of Sanitarium Road, Academy Road, and Peachtree Drive.

Heron Walk is an ideally located neighborhood for both outdoor recreation and shopping. Residents head to nearby Old Hickory Lake to boat, fish, bike, hike, and picnic. Several community parks can be found within a few miles northwest of this community, along State Highway 45. These include Madison Park and Cedar Hill Park, which offer trails, athletic fields, picnic areas, and playgrounds.

There are also several golf courses within minutes of Heron Walk. Residents of this community may belong to the Old Hickory Golf Club, which offers a challenging 18-hole course, Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, fitness facility, and banquet and dining options. Ellers Golf Course, a public 18-hole course, is also within minutes of Heron Walk.

Several shopping and dining options exist within a few miles west of Heron Walk along State Highway 6 and U.S. Highway 31E. These include Old Towne Village and the Madison Square Shopping Center. For local health care, residents head a few miles farther west to the Skyline Medical Center.

Schools near Heron Walk include Neelys Bend Middle School on Neelys Bend Road and the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia on Hospital Drive.
