South of Portland and Lake Oswego, Skyline Ridge lies just across Highway 43 from Marylhurst College and The Art Gym. Marylhurst College is one of the few places in Oregon where students can receive a degree in art therapy. With its many cul-de-sacs, Skyline Ridge enjoys freedom from through traffic.
Residents of this community are free to take advantage of the West Linn’s municipal facilities, including the West Linn Public Library, which offers a wide variety of regularly scheduled events such as teen movie night, book clubs, computer classes, and workshops focused on how to make the most of a job search. Skyline Ridge also offers summer recreation activities such as movies in the park and nearby sports camps for kids.
There are nine elementary schools in West Linn, including both public and private institutions, as well as four middle schools. There is only one high school, West Linn High School, which is a public school.
Passing through Skyline Ridge to the southwest, residents cross the border between town and the hills. Exploring the area south of the neighborhood makes an excellent Sunday drive; visitors should bring a camera along, because they are sure to come across some great views. On the way out to the hills, just past the developed area of Skyline Ridge to the southwest, is Skyline Ridge Park. The park is two and one-half acres of grassy turf and has tennis courts and a basketball court.
To the northeast of Skyline Ridge, just on the other side of Marylhurst College, flows the Willamette River and its endless opportunies for fishing, boating, and sunbathing.
