Historic Character with Modern Convenience
The Davenport Apartment Building is a 4-unit building located in the dynamic neighborhood of Buckman, Portland. We have recently updated this building to include new appliances, and central AC, but kept as much of its 1907 charm as possible. Central AC is rare in older Portland buildings, but each unit has climate control, large windows, and each bedroom has ceiling fans. The thoughtful layout includes a separate dining room, living room, and large open kitchen. Some may want to use the dining room or second bedroom as work from home. There is a back porch off each unit for enjoying a morning coffee. Each unit is approximately 900sf, and the high ceilings, large windows and thoughtful layout make it seem larger. Each unit has a private storage locker in the basement for items such as holiday decorations, and there is a separate space for bike storage. The area is highly walk-able, and 2 blocks from grocery, and over 50 restaurants and bars. It is also 4 blocks from Colonel Summer’s Park, which includes tennis, basketball, and softball courts. We have taken care to maintain the original plaster on the walls which keeps the building cooler in summer, and warmer in winter. Tiles found stored in the basement were used in the bathroom renovations. We also kept the original hand made kitchen sink cabinets, and bathroom tubs, and sinks. There is limited off-street parking, and a small community garden for relaxing, or pets to use.
