Abbington Ridge Neighborhood

Encompassing a small area west of Rock Quarry Road, Abbington Ridge is a residential neighborhood in Raleigh, North Carolina. Perfectly modeled homes with well-manicured lawns line the quiet streets in this southeast Raleigh community. Along with single-family homes, Abbington Ridge is home to Bagwell Cemetery and Ebenezer United Methodist Church, both of which can be seen at the Rock Quarry Road entrance.

Also near the entrance is Abbington Ridge Townhomes or what is referred to as “The Townes.” This area of the neighborhood contains, as the name implies, a group of townhomes while the rest of the neighborhood has ranch-style houses. Many families and younger couples call Abbington Ridge home.

To the northeast of the community is Barwell Road Elementary School. Other public schools located nearby include East Garner Middle to the southwest on Jones Sausage Road and Enloe High School to the north on Clarendon Crescent. The Wake County Public Library is approximately four miles to the north on Carya Drive.

Residents have the convenience of living away from the busy city yet still reside within five miles of downtown. For commuters, the closest public transit to downtown is located approximately 3.5 miles to the west on Jones Sausage Road.

Abbington Ridge is located in ZIP code 27610 in Wake County. To the south along Rock Quarry Road is a variety of shopping and dining choices. Residents have more nearby options to the west along Jones Sausage Road. Downtown is about a 20-minute drive while the neighboring town of Garner is less than 15 minutes southeast of the neighborhood.
