Olde Providence South Neighborhood

Olde Providence South is a neighborhood in Charlotte, South Carolina. It is a mature neighborhood that is located southwest of downtown Charlotte. The neighborhood is just three miles from South Park and nine miles from Uptown. Pineville Matthews Road is more or less the southern border, and Carmel Road sits on the western edge. The eastern border of this kidney-shaped neighborhood follows Providence Street for a shot way before cutting in.

Olde Providence South homes were generally built in the 1960s and 70s. The neighborhood offers tree-lined streets with plenty of walkable sidewalks. Many of the children in the neighborhood live within walking distance of the neighborhood school, Olde Providence Elementary School on Rea Road.

Windrush Country Club is located in the Old Providence South Neighborhood. The club’s membership fees are reasonable, designed to allow as many neighborhood families to join as possible. There are tennis courts and a swimming pool, both of which offers lessons and teams to both children and adults.

Carmel Country Club is partially within the Olde Providence South neighborhood. It is one of the premier golf clubs not only in Charlotte but in all of North Carolina. It is a private club that offers an 18 hole, par 72 course, tennis courts, a health club, and exceptional dining.

Most of the homes in the neighborhood are single family, but some upscale apartments with great amenities are also available to rent. This neighborhood offers shopping at South Park and easy access to Interstate 485.
