Wedgewood Neighborhood

Wedgewood is a neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. The boundaries of the neighborhood are Mount Holly Huntersville Road to the northwest and Statesville Road to the east. Much of the Wedgewood neighborhood is located between I-475 and I-77. The neighborhood has a variety of types of accommodations, including single family homes, townhouses, and apartments.

The neighborhood is located north and a little to the east of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. Residents enjoy easy access to downtown on the I-77. There are sidewalks on many streets in the neighborhood. The single family homes are similar and built very close to each other on cozy lots.

Auston Woods offers one, two and three bedroom apartments in the Wedgewood neighborhood. Up to two pets per unit are allowed and there is a clubhouse, fitness center and playground, making this a great apartment community for new families and working professionals.

Northlake Mall offers a lot of upscale shopping opportunities. In the mall there are great stores like Brook Brothers, Fossil, Coach, Sephora, J Crew and Eddie Bauer. Outside of the Mall there are a variety of other stores and restaurants. There is a Lowes, On the Border, Olive Garden, Hot Topics, P.F. Changs Chinese Bistro, Panera Bread, Staples and Ethan Allen Design Center. There are a variety of hotels in this area as well, including Drury Inn, Hilton Garden Inn and Fairfield Inn.

Nearby Oak Hill Country Club has been described by Tiger Woods as “the hardest, fairest golf course we’ve ever played.” In 2013 the PGA Championship will be played again at Oak Hill. It is a renowned club and a great favorite with professionals and locals alike. Oak Hill Country Club is a members-only club.
