Pisgah View Neighborhood
Situated about three miles southwest of Downtown Asheville, North Carolina, Pisgah View is a neighborhood consisting mainly of apartment complexes. Pisgah View encompasses several streets around Granada Street and Stewart Street. The neighborhood is located north of Carrier Park, east of Interstates 240 and 26, west of Short Michigan Avenue and south of State Street.
Approximately 1/8 of a mile to the south of Pisgah View is Carrier Park. This popular destination for area residents offers a large playground for children, volleyball, basketball, lawn bowling courts, and a roller-hockey rink. Carrier Park also provides various other athletic fields, picnic areas and walking nature trails. The park is bordered by the French Broad River with various river overlooks located along the park’s southern border.
To the east, approximately one mile of Pisgah View, is Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. Just to the west of the college, closer to Pisgah View, is the French Broad River Park. This park is one of the most scenic public parks located in Asheville. Like Carrier Park, French Broad River Park is adjacent to the French Broad River. The park offers an observation deck and a smaller playground. This is a popular destination for dog owners because of the fenced dog park that is also provided.
The Pisgah View neighborhood is located in the 28806 zip code area of Buncombe County. Public schools in the vicinity include Hall Fletcher Elementary School, Buncombe County Middle School and Asheville High School. A variety of convenient shopping and dining venues are located just to the north near the Westgate Shopping Center, or a few miles farther east at the Asheville Mall.
