The conveniently located Coves North, Kansas City, Missouri community on the city’s north side, bounded by Interstate 29 and U.S. Highway 71 on the west and traversed from west to east by State Highway 152. It is bounded by Northwest Barry Road on the south, Northwest Tiffany Springs Road on the north, and Northwest Old Stagecoach Road and Northwest 88th Street on the east. Part of Platte County, Coves North is in the 64154 zip code area.
This unique community consists of several large and separated retail areas that are comprised of single-family homes, apartment living, and townhome communities. With so many residential options to choose from, there is something for nearly every lifestyle and budget in Coves North. A largely undeveloped area of land exists on the community’s northeast side and the western portion of the community is devoted to commercial and industrial uses, including the St. Luke’s Northland Hospital, a Wal-Mart Supercenter, and several specialty shops and dining options.
Despite easy access to the area highways, Coves North retains a quiet, suburban feel and is quite picturesque thanks to the surrounding greenery. The southeast portion of the neighborhood is host to two small parks, which provide residents with outdoor recreation options. Creek Meadows Park is mostly wooded land and open green space, but Barry Platte Park offers the expected neighborhood park facilities, including playing fields, a playground, and a walking path. Platte Purchase Park, a larger park devoted entirely to baseball, is just a short drive north of this community, as is the Tiffany Greens Golf Club.
For local shopping, residents of Cove North are within walking distance of the Edgewood Shopping Center, located just outside of neighborhood bounds on the southwest. This outdoor shopping center offers several big-name retailers and eateries, as well as a movie theater for entertainment. A variety of popular restaurants and stores also surround nearby I-29, within minutes of Coves North.
