US Navy Amphibious Base, VA

The US Navy has two amphibious training bases. One of those bases is Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, the largest base of its kind in the world. The base is part of the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story and is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. NAB Little Creek provides operation, training, and support for amphibious operations. It is an important facility for the Amphibious Forces in the Navy’s Atlantic Fleet.

This busy area has long been utilized by the US Navy and is also home to the Norfolk Naval Base. Apartment housing is abundant, and finding an apartment near NAB Little Creek shouldn’t be difficult. Look in Northwest Virginia Beach, and in the neighborhoods East Ocean View, Camellia Gardens, Camellia Shores, Camellia Acres, Saratoga, and Roosevelt Gardens. Norfolk is less than nine miles southwest of the base, making this an ideal location with a short commute. Portsmouth is another great option, roughly 12 miles southwest.
