Dam Neck Combat Training Center, VA

Dam Neck Combat Training Center was commissioned in 1963. The Combat Direction Systems Activity, Dam Neck (CDSA, Dam Neck) serves as tenant command at NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex. The base is located on Virginia Beach’s Atlantic Shore not far from the landing site of the Jamestown settlers.

Located at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia Beach is a historic location that was settled by English colonists in 1607. Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in the New World, and is now one of the three Historic Triangle of Colonial Virginia locations, the others being Williamsburg and Yorktown. The Jamestown National Historic Site is located on the James River and is the site of the original 1607 fort.

In addition to its rich history, Virginia Beach is also a resort city with beautiful beaches and hundreds of hotels and restaurants catering to tourists. The city hosts the East Coast Surfing Championships annually. It also features several state parks, two universities, and three military bases.

An apartment near Dam Neck Combat Training Center can easily be located in Virginia Beach. Look south of Norfolk Avenue and along Dam Neck Road. Sandbridge is a community located on the south end of the Naval Air Station, while the larger cities of Chesapeake and Portsmouth are within commuting distance.
