The Naval Coastal Systems Center began in 1945 as the US Navy Mine Countermeasures Station. In 2007, the name changed again to Naval Support Activity Panama City. Today, it is home to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, the Navy Experimental Diving Unit, and the Coast Guard Station Panama City. NSA PC covers 657 acres and includes several miles of intra-coastal waterways.
