Cherokee Triangle Neighborhood

Cherokee Triangle is a 140-year-old subdivision in Louisville, Kentucky. The neighborhood offers an eclectic mix of Victorian homes in styles that include Italianate, Second Empire, Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, Neoclassical, Tudor Revival, and Beaux Arts.

On one side of the triangle-shaped neighborhood, Eastern Parkway meets a statue of Daniel Boone standing on a pedestal, welcoming everyone entering the magnificent Cherokee Park. The park offers 389.13 acres of pastoral setting among rolling hills, open meadows, and woodlands. Golf, archery, biking, and fishing are just a few of the many activities for families to enjoy, and Cochran Dog Park is a terrific destination for you and your pet.

A drive down Bardstown Road connects to a right turn at Highland Avenue, which runs into the famous Cave Hill Cemetery. Cave Hill not only provides a resting place for Louisvillians, but it’s also a renowned arboretum. Every spring, azaleas burst with blooms of red and pink. Masses of pink and white cover dogwood trees.. The park grounds also include a monument to one of Cave Hill’s most famous residents, Colonel Fred Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame.

Restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, and artist’s workshops line Bardstown Road. Cherokee Triangle residents enjoy the short walking distant to these amenities. After shopping, they might stop at the local coffee shop at Eastern Parkway and Bardstown Road for a chat with neighborhood friends. This historic neighborhood offers entertainment, recreation, good schools, medical care, and close proximity to both downtown Louisville and Waterfront Park.
