West Colonial Neighborhood

West colonial is a neighborhood in Orlando, Florida. The neighborhood is located to the north of the East-West Expressway, South of Colonial Drive, west of Magruder Avenue, and east of Mercy Drive. The general location of the neighborhood makes it perfect for quick access to many of the areas around Orlando.

Overlooking Spring Lake off of Country Club Drive is the Orlando Country Club. This large country club is one of the most popular in the Orlando area. The well-maintained golf course brings in a wide variety of players of all skill levels. The course also has a large clubhouse that features a professional shop staff with golf pros who are able to assist with questions regarding the course itself or the game of golf in general.

Orlando Country Club is also home to an impressive tennis program. The club has 12 different tennis courts with hard and clay surfaces. The courts are used for individual lessons for a variety of different skills, league play for different age groups, and for tournaments. The club also has a large lap swimming pool that is used for water aerobics, swimming lessons, and of course, swimming. To round out the offerings at the club, there’s a good-sized fitness center that receives regular use.

The West Colonial area is well known throughout the Orlando region for being the destination to find a new vehicle. Along a short stretch to the west of John Young Parkway off of West Colonial Drive, there are dealerships representing virtually every major vehicle brand. Some of the biggest brands in the area include Honda, Mazda, Hyundai, Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, Kia, Chevrolet, and Suzuki.

West Colonial Drive is also home to the Central Florida Fairgrounds, which are used for many major events including the annual fair that features many vendors, rides, and games.
