Southern Oaks Neighborhood

Southern Oaks is one of the most beautiful and popular residential communities in the Orlando region. In this somewhat hidden community, landscaping is obviously a high priority. Virtually every home here has a perfectly manicured lawn, freshly cut hedges, and newly spread mulch. It is apparent that the people of this community take considerable pride in caring for the outside aesthetics of their homes.

Throughout the community are beautiful sidewalks that curve along with the landscaping of the properties. It is rare to walk along these sidewalks without spotting mothers pushing running strollers, walking couples, joggers, and cyclists. Sidewalks on both sides of the roads and low traffic volume make Southern Oaks perfect for active adults.

If shopping is important, it’s only a short drive to Orange Avenue to find numerous small shops and a variety of high-end restaurants. Many upscale and ethnic dining opportunities await those with a little extra money to spend.

Within a 10-15 minute drive of Southern Oaks are several parks, including Lake Eola, one of the most popular parks in all of Orlando. This downtown park features swan rides, a large playground, and even a waterside venue, regularly frequented by musicians and other performers. During major holidays, the city will set off fireworks seen from all around the park. There is also a large running trail surrounding Lake Eola for exercise opportunities.

When hospitals are necessary, Southern Oaks is relatively close to Orlando Regional Medical Center, Arnold Palmer Hospital, and Winnie Palmer Hospital. The close proximity to these major hospitals has made Southern Oaks a desirable community for area medical practitioners.
