Poinciana Place Neighborhood

Poinciana Place is a neighborhood in Lake Worth, Florida, in the 33467 zip code. The boundaries are Pinehurst Drive on the west, 10th Avenue North on the south, Park Point Circle on the east, and a canal on the north. This is an attractive residential neighborhood with a variety of housing options.

Okeeheelee Park takes its name from the Seminole word for quiet waters. This 1700-acre county park certainly has some quiet waters. There is fishing in one area and water skiing in the other. Paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks are available for rent. In addition there is a BMX track, 27 holes of golf, a dog park, a playground, and miles of trails. In addition there is an equestrian center, five baseball fields, a nature center, and eight tennis courts. The park is within walking distance of the neighborhood.

Students in the neighborhood may attend Liberty Park Elementary School and Okeeheelee Middle School.

For four generations, the Atlantis Skateway has been entertaining residents with their family-owned roller skating rink. In addition to open skating there is an arcade, snack bar, and dance area. Birthday parties can be arranged, and there are several different clubs available for skaters, including speed skating and girl’s roller derby.

Greenacres Branch Library has recently been renovated and is now better than ever. There are 20 public access computers in the adult area of the library. The library has a wide selection of both print and electronic resources. The children’s area has one game computer and four computers with a word processor. There is a variety of programs planned at this branch for both adults and children.
