Stretching from the outskirts of Sacramento to the border of Nevada, Placer County contains some of the most beautiful landscape in the country – Lake Tahoe and part of the Tahoe National Forest are located within the county. Placer County has five cities, including Auburn. The others are Roseville, Lincoln, Colfax, and Rocklin. Loomis is a town in the county, and there are several unincorporated communities such as Baxter, Foresthill, Applegate, Newcastle, and Kings Beach.
