On the south side of Oxnard, California, the 21st largest city in the state, is the neighborhood of Villa Capri. Just a short walk or bike ride from the beach, this community is bordered by East Pleasant Valley Road on the north and East Hueneme Road on the south. Villa Capri is part of Ventura County, in the 93033 zip code region.
The vast majority of this community is undeveloped land or industry, but the far northern portion, along Pleasant Valley Road, hosts a few dozen single-family homes. In total, the neighborhood area is about .292 square miles, and, as of 2009, it was home to 310 residents. Area communities include Cypress Gardens, Pleasant Valley Estates, Terrace Estates, and Tierra Vista.
Residents of this neighborhood enjoy proximity to the beach, which offers opportunities for surfing, swimming, sunning, and water sports, among other outdoor activities. Several harbors and beach parks also exist within a few minutes of Villa Capri. Other recreation options surround this community in the form of small neighborhood parks, such as nearby Johnson Creek Park and Pleasant Valley Park.
This conveniently located community is also close to several shopping options, with bounding Pleasant Valley Road offering a variety of retail shops, popular restaurants, and at least two shopping centers within walking distance. Residents enjoy easy access to both a supermarket and pharmacy. Larger shopping centers can be found within 10 minutes to the north, closer to downtown Oxnard, as can the Oxnard Airport and St. John’s Regional Medial Center, the city’s most prominent health care facility.
Although Oxnard offers plenty to see and do, when residents of Villa Capri are craving more entertainment or nightlife options, downtown Los Angeles is less than one hour and 20 minutes to the east.
