The La Crescenta-Montrose neighborhood is located in the northern part of Los Angeles County in Southern California just north of Foothill Boulevard. Los Angeles County is a large area that includes a wide variety of suburbs. The La Cresenta-Montrose neighborhood is located to the northwest of the city of La Canada-Flintridge and is also relatively close to Pasadena, which is home to the famous Rose Bowl.
Southern California is home to many parks in the midst of the suburban metropolis. Close to the La Cresenta-Montrose neighborhood is Crescenta Valley Park, Deukmejian Wilderness Park, and Montrose Community Park. Hikers can enjoy the mountainous Angeles National Forest, which is a large wilderness area to the north of Los Angeles. La Cresenta-Montrose is located at the base of the Angeles National Forest in the San Gabriel Mountains.
There is much to do in the area as residents can enjoy golfing, shopping, and sporting events. Golfers can enjoy one of the local courses, including the Verdugo Hills Golf Course, the Oakmont Country Club, and the La Canada Country Club. Residents can shop at the local Marketplace Shopping Center or they can travel a bit further to the Glendale Galleria shopping and entertainment complex. Those that are interested in sports can travel downtown Los Angeles to see professional sports teams such as the Dodgers, Lakers, Clippers, and Kings.
Residents have a number of options in terms of travel around Southern California. There are some public transportation options, but much of travel is done on the extensive Southern California freeway system. The La Cresenta-Montrose neighborhood is very close to the 210 freeway, which connects very easily to freeways 2, 134, and 5.
