East Highland Village Neighborhood

With its proximity to the San Bernardino Mountains and the surrounding rugged desert terrain, East Highlands Village is a peaceful, scenic community. Walking the quiet streets of this neighborhood, and it’s hard for anyone to imagine being so close to major roadways.

East Highlands Village encompasses ZIP code 92346. The area is bounded by the San Bernardino Mountains and Highland Avenue on the north and east, Abbey Way to the south, and Church Street to the west. The 210 Freeway lies to the west, and the 10 Freeway is to the south of the community. The area is mostly residential, although there are a variety of commercial buildings, such as a grocery store, various eateries, several service establishments, and a YMCA. There is also an elementary school in the neighborhood.

One of the many appealing aspects of East Highlands Village is the community park that sits in the heart of the neighborhood. This picturesque park features a wide variety of amenities, including a pool, tennis courts, and a baseball field. Those who enjoy fishing appreciate the East Highlands Reservoir, which is located in the northern section of the community. Fishing by residents is permitted in the reservoir.

For individuals who enjoy hiking and viewing local wildlife, the San Bernardino Mountains offer plenty of opportunities. Bald eagles are regularly spotted in the mountains and are counted on an annual basis by volunteers for the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service. Also regularly seen in the area are black bears, big horn sheep, mule deer, and even mountain lions.
