Chevy Chase Neighborhood

Located in the foothills above Eagle Rock, the Chevy Chase neighborhood offers an oasis for Los Angeles residents who want a more rural and rustic setting while remaining close to all that the city has to offer. Located just minutes from both Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles, Chevy Chase is part of the suburban city of Glendale and retains a very small-town feel despite its big-city locale.

Chevy Chase incorporates the 91206 ZIP code. Its western boundary is the Glendale Freeway while its eastern boundary roughly follows Figueroa Street. The northern boundary of Chevy Chase meanders near Emerald Isle Drive while the southern boundary stays several blocks south of Chevy Chase Drive and Linda Vista Road. The homes are a combination of tract housing and larger, rural housing. Much of the architecture sits on multiple levels on hilly terrain.

The Chevy Chase neighborhood is part of the Glendale Unified School District, which is one of the stronger school districts in the area with test scores 12 to 16 percent above the state average. Elementary school children in the area typically attend Glenoaks Elementary while high school students can attend Eagle Rock High School or a nearby private school like the Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy.

Many residents in Chevy Chase are members of the Chevy Chase Country Club, a members-only club located in the heart of the neighborhood. Along with an 18-hole golf course, the club also has a swimming pool, clubhouse, restaurant, lounge and banquet hall. It has also been a filming location for many Hollywood movies and television shows.

The Chevy Chase region is great for people who love running, jogging or walking for their health. There are plenty of tree-lined streets with wide sidewalks. Heading through the foothills on a job or walk gives plenty of chances to experience elevation changes and some stunning views of downtown Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley.

The main open space in Chevy Chase is Emerald Isle Park. This 6.3-acre complex on the northern end of the neighborhood has plenty of trees and grass for picnics and relaxation. There is a basketball court, playground and two tennis courts on the site.
