Studio Village Neighborhood
Once known as Lindberg Park, the boundaries for Studio Village in the Culver City section of Los Angeles, California boundaries include Moorpark Street, Los Angeles Basin River, Los Angeles River and Colfax Avenue. The neighborhood is small (about 0.555 square miles), and has middle-class couples and families who are mostly homeowners.
Studio Village residents and tourists have access to highways 1, 10, 90, 101, 105, 110, and 187 to help them get to the attractions of Los Angeles. Public transportation by the Culver City bus system, Metrolink and Dash buses is available.
Hiking is the most popular recreational activity in the larger Los Angeles parks. The neighborhood is close to Laurel Canyon, one of the largest nature areas in the county. The six parks offer hiking, running and picnicking. Dogs are allowed in these parks. Studio Village is also close to the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area, known as the site for the 1932 and 1984 Summer Olympics. Visitors enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding cities, mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
The 4,210-acre Griffith Park is the largest urban park in the United States. It has a network of hiking and equestrian trails. The tourist destinations within the park include the Griffith Observatory and planetarium, Greek Theater, Los Angeles Zoo and Museum of the American West. The park boasts two 18-hole golf courses and a smaller nine-hole golf course. The 1,500-acre Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness has fire roads for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The seaside city of Santa Monica has the tourist destinations of Pacific Park and Muscle Beach. Topanga State Beach is a secluded beach near the famous beach at Malibu. It is near Topanga State Park and Malibu Creek State Park.
Studio Village is near the Culver City tourist attractions including the Culver City Skateboard Park, Sony Pictures Studio, Museum of Jurassic Technology, and Peterson Automotive Museum.
