A local market is 2 blocks off. Shotgun Players Theater is also a 2 blocks off. The delicious local tradition known as "Thai temple brunch," happens every Sunday at the nearby Thai temple, which is next to the library. The weekly South Berkeley Farmers market is a 13-minute walk.
