About the Listing Agent
As a REALTOR® with Highlands Realty, Inc., Roberta is licensed in both Virginia and Tennessee and continues a lifelong committment to providing service to our community. She uses her many years of experience in real estate, her knowledge, and love of the local landscape to help buyers find their perfect home or tract of land and sellers connect with those buyers. Her many decades of negotiation experience in government service and as a realtor provide a valuable skill to her clients. She works hard to stay abreast of market trends and local real estate issues. She understands and appreciates getting to know people and what they want in a property. Although trained to work with all types of real estate, her background makes her especially well-suited to helping those with an interest in buying or selling conservation and rural properties.
Roberta moved to Southwest Virginia in 1994, returning to her roots to pursue her passion for fish and wildlife conservation in the Southern Appalachians. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science and a Master of Science degree in biology, she dedicated more than 35 years of service to local, state, and national conservation efforts. She supervised a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Field Office, mentoring employees and negotiating deals with industry and local, state, and federal government to conserve fish and wildlife habitat on public and private lands. Roberta has a long history of public service. She served two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala, where she learned Spanish and met her husband, with whom she has two children. For over 15 years she has been a volunteer teacher of English to speakers of other languages, helping those far away from their native cultures adjust and feel at home in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. Whenever she can, Roberta enjoys finding time for long day hikes, exploring rivers, cooking ethnic foods, reading and being with family and friends.
Whether you're looking to buy your first home, a retirement dream, a mountain retreat, or an investment property, no one knows Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee better or will be more dedicated to helping you meet your needs than Roberta.
